2012...

I can honestly say that this year has been amazing.  I spent a lot of time with the people that mean the most to me, reconnected with old friends, and made some new ones too.   I spent three glorious weeks in Italy, just came back from New York City (more on that later), and my wanderlust continues to grow. Food, fashion, photography have become even stronger interests than before.  I feel as though I have grown a lot this year, learned quite a bit about myself, and who I want to be in the future.  I'm very excited to begin 2013 and to see what it has in store for us all.  From the bottom of my heart, I just wanted to thank you all for your love and support this year. I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013.

its christmas time

It's that time of year again!!! I LOVE Christmas. I've been listening to Christmas music since the middle of December (yes, I have issues). I listen to it on the way to work, at work, at home, on the weekends. I can't get enough of it.  And my house is filled with Christmasy stuff in every corner.  So much so, that when its all said and done, and everything is packed away, the house feels so empty. I hate it! Anywho, I have 6 "trees" in my house because one can never have too many.  So you get my point.

So, I would just like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas with your family and loved ones.  May this season be filled with love and happiness for everyone.

my phone's eye *53*

Food and fun times from my iPhone!

I'm currently heading out to a Christmas dinner with my lady friends from work! It's going to be bittersweet. One of my coworkers is going to be on maternity leave for all of 2013, and another is leaving us for good to pursue a career in Nursing. I'm going to miss them both dearly!

Hope you all have a lovely Thursday evening!

the smell of baking in the air

'Tis the season for baking!  I made four batches of my "famous" pecan cookies on friday, and then attempted this recipe for Chocolate Hazelnut Biscotti on saturday. All I have to say is it wasn't easy, but boy they are yummy!!! I hope my family loves them when they get them in their Christmas platters! :)

P.S I went crazy looking for hazelnuts, til I realized that they are also known as filberts. Seriously.   :|

its ours!

Thomas and I did the annual Christmas Tree hunt last weekend (you can see last year's here).  It was super foggy, and super fun. Usually there's a lot of snow on the ground by this point, so it was weird picking out a tree when there wasn't any snow.  Anyway, it was beautiful regardless and our tree is perfect! And we got free hot chocolate :)

distillery

As promised in this post, I went back to the Christmas Market in the Distillery District with my actual camera and had some fun. I tend to forget how much I enjoy using my camera and how I feel like I'm in my own world. Nonetheless, I took way too many photos of the pretty lights, and also purposely out of focus, but these are my faves. If you haven't made it out to the Christmas Market, GO! :)
