pink

When I said last week that the sky looked like cotton after the thunderstorm, I wasn't lying.  And I've never seen the clouds this shade of pink before. It was too pretty.

my phone's eye *81*

This week's edition of my phone's eye features my birthday weekend through instagram.  I shared with you earlier, my birthday party, but that wasn't the only celebration.  The entire weekend involved a visit at my work from my nieces (who brought me a bouquet of flowers and a princess balloon), dinner at my favourite Italian restaurant, my new polaroid camera (totally in love with it), pool time shenanigans with my sister, a date at the beach, Frank the dachshund, a birthday party for 5 people (featuring 3 cakes and my cupiecake), and a late night frappe on my back porch.  Perfection.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

So you've already met my lovely friend, Maria, during our first little photo shoot together.  This time, we found a ladder, and had some fun.  More soon!

walk

Good evening friends!!! This is part two of the random walk that my husband and I went on a few weekends ago. It ended with a picnic. Which resulted in too many mosquito bites. Not cool.  Anyway, you can see part one, here!!!

cotton sky

We had quite the thunderstorm on Friday evening in Toronto.  I LOVE thunderstorms.  I remember when I was 8 years old, I used to curl up on my front porch (which was covered) and just sit; watching and listening.  The aftermath on Friday was just too beautiful.  So I spent a good half hour just staring at the sky (aka taking photos)!  I apologize for the abundance of sky photos in this post.... and there will be more another day.

my phone's eye *80*

Here's the update from my instagram! In this edition you will find my favourite summer treat (aka gelati), lying in my backyard soaking up the sun, a wonderful friend's birthday party, a dinner date, little girls playing dress up, and killing time driving around some deserted roads.   Just what summer is all about!

29

So this is what a 29 year old's birthday party looks like.  As I mentioned in this post, it was my birthday last Thursday.  My wonderful husband threw me a party.  He knows that I pretty much hate my birthday.  And he knows that overcompensating for this fact is the best way to celebrate it.  Simple finger foods, streamers, party hats, leis, hula skirts, pinatas, musical chairs, all make me actually enjoy my birthday.  Just because I'm getting older, doesn't mean I have to have a "sophisticated" birthday party, right?  My 30th should be interesting...

We thought that this was an excellent family photo.

I have to give my husband full credit for this one. Her face is priceless. So excited about that ONE lollipop.
Happy Birthday to ME!

quiet

I went for a walk a few weeks ago, and stumbled upon this, in the middle of downtown Toronto.  Finding these random ravines, makes my heart happy.  Its nice to know that in such a large city, you can still find quiet, hidden trails to spend a sunday afternoon, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. More later....
