part-time gardener

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have spent way way way too much time in my garden this year.  My mother is a florist, which doesn't necessarily mean that the "green thumb" was passed down, but more so that it's expected of me to have a massive garden. Sure the flowers are pretty. But all that soil turning and weed pulling left me with a slightly pulled hamstring and sprained ankle. Pathetic. I guess that's what happens when you hibernate all winter long and decide to go crazy as soon as spring has sprung.  Anywho, here's a few photos of what's growing.  Tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red beets, celery, peppers, green onions, oregano, parsley (flat and curly leaf! - for real!?!?), chamomile and basil.  Apparently I'm feeding a small village. The last photo is of my favourite rose bush before it blossomed. Fully blossomed rose bushes deserve their own post. Next week. (However if you follow me on instagram, you've already seen it in its full glory)!

So what are you growing in your garden? I'd love to know!! :)

P.S. The quote of the day is bang on. I do that all the time.

Quote of the Day: Weather means more when you have a garden.  There's nothing like listening to a shower and thinking how it is soaking in around your green beans - Marcelene Cox
