engaged

My sister in law got engaged last December, and a few weeks ago they had a little engagement party/BBQ/pool party.  She asked me to be the photographer for the day, and how could I say no? There were lots of appetizers, vintage pink straws, pink cupcakes, canon balls into the pool (some while fully clothed), and laughs. Congrats on the engagement Cath!

my phone's eye *85*

So ya, there's 3 photos of my dad in this week's edition of the iPhone update. It was his birthday; so he's special.  But it also involved sunday afternoon backyard lounging, a random Greek concert, more goodies from my garden, a wine night with my friend, my childhood teddy bears and my husband's office!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!!!

It's Thursday! Which means today's the iPhone update!  Another shopping date with my sister, the quadricycle, Capocaccia (a small, lovely Italian restaurant in Toronto), macaroons, my mother's flowers, my grandmother, the famous rainbow arch at Lawrence and the DVP (which, by the way, was one of the coolest moments when I finally saw it up close and personal), and a dinner outfit.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!!

that bike

I mentioned last week (here), that I went to Centre Island with my husband, specifically so I could ride a quadricycle.  When they said it was a 45 minute wait, I didn't care. We drove downtown, took the ferry, walked the island, and I wasn't going to leave without riding that bike! So we wandered and I snapped some photos, and finally, the bike was ready. I thought I was excited. My husband was worse.  He peddled that thing like his life depended on it.  And since he's 6'5" and slightly heavier than me, I honestly thought we were going to tip over.  Needless to say, we were weaving through the crowds of people who were out for a leisurely stroll, and I'm sure some of them thought we were crazy.  And we are.... :)

summer sun

Seriously? Its August 13th. Summer is almost over. And unfortunately, with the weather we've had, it feels like summer hasn't even begun.  So while the temperatures start to drop, I'll keep dreaming of wonderful days like this.

P.S. That's my sister's baby bump. You've seen her here many times.  She's due December 26th, and she's just the cutest! Can't wait to meet the little peanut!!

P.P.S. Am I the only one that wishes that Starbucks delivers?

Happy Friday everyone!!!  This week from my iPhone brings you a fun afternoon on Queen Street with my sister, macaroons (yum!), veggies from my garden, oregano that is now hanging in my basement and drying, some chairs, gelato, and a very well-dressed man on a bicycle.

Happy Weekend!!

ferry ride

I very rarely head over to Toronto Island.  And I'm not sure why that is, because there's so much to do there. Centreville (obviously for the kiddos), picnics, beach fun, bike riding, all these activities make for a wonderful summer day.  The ferry ride to get there is lovely in and of itself.  You don't realize how beautiful Toronto actually is, until you see it from the water.   For me, the only reason I wanted to go to Centre Island was specifically to ride one of the quadricycles. My husband, never once thinking that I'm crazy, agreed, and so we spent a beautiful Sunday summer afternoon on the island.  More photos to come. And more exciting stories about the adventures on the quadricycle haha!
