my phone's eye *92*

Hello! Happy Black Friday! I was totally planning on going to the mall weeks ago on this day,  and then I realized that it was Black Friday today, and decided that I wasn't going anywhere near the mall! HA! No thanks!  Anyway, I hope all my American friends had a lovely Thanksgiving yesterday!
Here's the latest iPhone/instagram dump! It includes some false teeth shenanigans at work, preparations for my sister's baby shower (we showed up in the same outfit and so decided to called it a "uniform".  We looked hilarious, except you couldn't see her pants over her belly :D),  my sister and I at her baby shower, shopping dates with lots of mirrors, a gift pour moi, awesome wrapping paper, some sunsets, starbucks, a pretty winter wreath, and my 5 year old niece that looks like she's 25 with her houndstooth dress and her pearls.

Have a great weekend! :)

funny guy

Two weeks ago I was asked to photograph the launch of the PS4 at Future Shop.  I was obviously super excited at the offer.  And then I was told that Chris Kattan would be there.  Even though he hasn't done anything new in a while, I remember the days watching him on SNL with my dad and cracking up at his monkey impression.   Anyway, I took photos of him playing some games, and interacting with fans.  It was a great day! And I got to shake his hand :)

last look

Anytime I go on vacation, I like to do a lot of research before I go.  My boss actually makes fun of me, that I know what I'm doing each hour of every day of my trip (which is probably not too far from the truth!).  So while planning my trips, I usually come across lots of photos of where I will be travelling. Which usually means I already know what things look like.  So when I finally get to where I'm going, everything already looks "familiar", like I've seen it before.  What' s the point of even travelling? (that was sarcasm).   I guess that is a "drawback" to having the internet.  Although it's good for researching and planning, etc, it almost takes the fun out of exploring on your own.  Luckily, you can't find every little small detail on the internet.  Thankfully we can still leave some things to the imagination until we actually see them.  Anyway, here are the last photos of Mykonos; some you've probably seen before, some where else online,  and hopefully the others are of small little details that you haven't.  Enjoy your monday evening!

my phone's eye *91*

Here we go again! The weekly, thursday update of my iPhone photos! This week's edition brings you: my other niece's birthday party, a night out with some friends in Toronto, my Greece photo album that arrived in the mail (YAY!), fall leaves, a small Toronto skyline from far away, my poppy and a red starbucks cup, the decorations in the Eaton Centre, a loaf of banana bread I made from scratch, a litttle "baby boy" safety pin I bought for my sister, and a herringbone pattern scarf that I'm knitting!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!

mykonos randoms

I know I've already mentioned how much I loved getting lost in the small, windy streets of Mykonos Town.  So here are a few photos of the beautiful white walls and streets with the blue (and some red) accents.   Plus some other stuff ;)    Happy Wednesday friends! :)

my phone's eye *90*

The instagram halloween edition. My nieces were Minnie Mouse and a Monkey.  Seriously too cute.  And my coworker put up those skeletons in my office.  A patient actually placed a Post-It note above them that said "this is what happens when you don't floss."  At least the patients have a sense of humour.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

to the beach!

One thing I've learned about myself on our trip to Greece: I much prefer small, cove-like beaches versus the long expanses of sand.  Don't get me wrong.  Long sandy beaches are beautiful.  But I love the privacy and quietness of smaller, harder to reach beaches.  I don't need a fancy beach lounger, just a towel so I can squish comfortably into the sand.  The only thing about unorganized beaches is the lack of yummy, cold frappedes (foamy, cold coffee drink).  Anyway, here's an unorganized versus an organized beach in Mykonos.  How much do you wish you could just jump in, on a day like today where it feels like -2 degrees!?

tables with a view

Really, on almost every corner of every street in Mykonos there's a cute little restaurant.  How could anyone NOT want to eat there?  But as pretty as all these places are, we never actually ate dinner at any of them.  We always tried to find the small, family run places.  And those places usually end up being the best :)
